INFORMATION ON SIGHT LOSS

Information, and sign posting, on all aspects of help for sight loss and independant living, can be provided. We also have a range of leaflets on various eye conditions.

LOW VISION SERVICE

What is low vision? Low vision is when you find it hard to see clearly, even after an eye test or when wearing spectacles or contact lenses, and where this loss of vision causes disruption to daily activities.

We can offer a Sight Loss Assessment, which is is a detailed look at their current sight loss situation and therefore establishes how best we can support their individual needs. It considers health and wellbeing, living independently, and highlights other beneficial services.

We have a complete set of magnifiers and can provide magnification needs assessments in the office. This assessment will help guide a person through the different magnification strengths available in order to establish the best possible solution for them when reading or performing detailed tasks and hobbies. The assessment also considers lighting, positioning and the option of using different coloured eye shields to make the most of remaining sight.

If you feel you would benefit from having either of these services please contact the office on 01653 698860 to make an appointment.
