Optimeyes is a unique initiative funded by the Big Lottery and is a collaborative project involving RNIB, together with 5 other local sight loss charities, mainly throughout Yorkshire.
Over the 2 years of the project, Otimeyes will be using innovative approaches to ensure that people living in Ryedale who are over 50 become more conscious of seeking advice on caring for their eyesight.
We work closely with a range of local health and community services in a joint approach to ensure that early help, advice and support is provided to older people whose vision might be at risk.
Our service is free and confidential, so if you are experiencing some sight problems, or have noticed some loss of vision, please get in touch. One of our friendly and professional staff will be happy to call on you to provide help and advice, and to arrange appropriate assistance should you require it.
If your eyesight seems fine but you haven't had an eye check-up in the last 2 years (1 year if you are over 70) we strongly recommend that you see an optician so that any potential problems can be picked up at an early stage, so that your eyesight continues to remain healthy.
